The choir was going to Bath for the day so we followed: Caroline and I went to the Fashion Museum with Greg and some of his choir friends, while Christopher and Daniel went to see the main tourist attraction, the Roman baths. We met for lunch at the relatively uninspiring Waitrose Café. Probably there were better options. But Waitrose tho! To the dismay of my working-class friends I was super into Waitrose when I lived in the UK. And I still head to their website for recipes when I need some comfort food. Butter and cream make everything better! But I digress. After lunch we made a half-hearted attempt at seeing some more touristy things and then gave up and made our way back to the train station. This was not a wildly successful trip - it was hot, and the most interesting thing we did there was watch some people navigate their canal boat through a lock. But things got better in the evening: Caroline and I went to Evensong and then we ordered pizza from the trendy brewpub next to our hotel and ate it across the bridge in Castle Park. Yum. Am I too obviously fixated on food here? It's just so fabulous not to be responsible for the cooking, and going out in Switzerland is so very expensive and so frustratingly hit-and-miss...

Do I want to partake in replica historical fashion sharing? Eh... It was the coolest part of the museum, though - at least if you, like me, are fashion clueless.

In they go...

...and back out. Canal boating looks so romantic, but it seems like there is is a ton of manual labor involved in getting anywhere. Here's a video in case you've never watched this done.

Random under-bridge picture of Bristol. The sun is best enjoyed from the shade, imho.
|
Ready for Evensong. This is a good picture of the cathedral and I'm sorry I didn't put it in yesterday's post.

The Suzi Quattro: Fontina, Cheddar, Gorgonzola, mozzerella, caramelized onion. This Suzi approves!
