hedgehog love

I am going to get around to writing about our trip - really, I am - but it's a topic not well suited to my braindead state on a Friday night. So instead:

There's a collection of Familiengärten (aka Schrebergärten aka allotments aka community gardens aka [for Seattleites only] P-patches) near our house that is soon going to be razed to make room for a new school. Community gardening is Totally A Thing here, families have amazing setups where they can spend the whole weekend gardening, cooking, and eating together. So the tenants of this one area were harvesting their last crops and dismantling their sheds, which is all kind of sad, and this week as we walked by, there was woman leading a dog around the now-much-shabbier-than-usual-looking gardens, and this sign on the gate:
Dogs At Work
Apparently they brought in these special dogs to sniff out the hedgehogs living in the gardens so that the hedgehogs can be relocated before everything gets plowed under. Can you think of anything sweeter?? Yay for hedgehog-sniffing dogs!
